Types Of Assistance

Financial assistance

Help with rent, mortgage, or utility bills. CAM may pay a portion of your current month’s bill when you are able to contribute a portion or have a pledge for that amount.

Food Pantry & Toiletries

 Access nutritious food and personal care items through the CAM Food Pantry and Food Pharmacy. For elderly or disabled neighbors, monthly grocery deliveries ensure they receive the support they need right at home.

Adult Education

GED and ESL classes offered year-round to open new doors for education and opportunity.

Clothing, furniture, & household essentials

Assistance with clothing, linens, dishes, and furniture for families rebuilding after a crisis. CAM provides clothing vouchers for Angels’ Attic resale stores, allowing families to choose items that best meet their needs.

Job & Financial Counseling

Through our Operation Jobs program, clients receive job readiness training, résumé assistance, and employment leads. Our Financial Empowerment classes provide tools and guidance to help families budget, build savings, and work toward long-term financial stability.

Seasonal support

through special events like school supplies, holiday meals, and Christmas gifts for children.

We Offer Many Special Programs to Help Our Cypress neighbors

  • Community Garden

    The Messiah Lutheran Community Garden grows more than produce — it grows hope. Through faith, service, and community partnerships, volunteers cultivate fresh vegetables that go directly to CAM’s Food Pantry, nourishing local families and teaching the value of giving back.

  • Senior and Homebound Program (SHoP)

    This program delivers groceries monthly to qualifying seniors (65+) and those who are homebound due to disability or mobility restrictions.

  • Senior Box Program

    In partnership with the USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture, CAM distributes the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) “Senior Box” to income-eligible seniors (60+

  • Food for Change Fresh Market

    In partnership with the Houston Food Bank, CAM is proud to be a Fresh Market site for the Food for Change program. This initiative uses food as a catalyst for change, helping individuals reach personal and financial goals.

  • Client Choice Food Pantry

    Neighbors shop one-on-one with a volunteer and choose from a selection of fresh produce, dairy, deli meats, frozen entrées, non-perishable items, household goods, and personal care items.

    Money can be stressful—especially during tough economic times. Cypress Assistance Ministries’ Financial Empowerment Program provides free, practical tools to help individuals and families take control of their finances and build lasting stability.

  • Operation Jobs

    Finding a job can be overwhelming, and Cypress Assistance Ministries is here to help. Operation Jobs equips job seekers with the tools, training, and confidence needed to achieve long-term employment and career success. Whether you are entering the workforce for the first time or looking to re-establish your career, our counselors provide both practical guidance and the emotional support many job seekers need.

  • Intermediate / Advanced ESL Coffee & Conversation

    Join CAM’s Coffee & Conversation ESL classes—Thursday mornings for intermediate and advanced speakers ready to learn, practice, and connect.

  • ESL Classes

    Learning English opens doors to new opportunities—at work, at school, and in the community. Cypress Assistance Ministries offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes designed to help adults improve communication skills and build confidence in their daily lives.

  • GED Preparation Classes

    A high school diploma or GED is often the first step toward better job opportunities and a brighter future. Cypress Assistance Ministries offers free Online GED Preparation Classes to help adults gain the knowledge and confidence needed to pass the GED exam and achieve their goals.
